House Vote to End the Afghanistan War – You can Help

This Thursday, a bill is being voted on in the house, “that would require the president to withdraw all U.S. military troops by the end of this year.”

It is supposedly unlikely to pass, but the majority of Americans want this, the longest war America has been in, to come to an end.  If enough of us speak up we might at least change the debate on the issue.

Take Action

First find who your representative is at house.gov.

Then call them at either 800-530-1748 (FCNL toll free number that redirects I believe  )  or the number you got from their website.

After being connected:

  • Let the person who answers the phone know who you are and where you live.
  • Urge the representative to vote “yes” on the Kucinich resolution (H.Con.Res. 28) calling for the withdrawal of U.S. military troops from Afghanistan.

Also email them now (using the contact form on their website).

This post is based on one from the FCNL.

  1. Politics have no place on Ubuntu Planet…

Oh yeah, and I’d urge them to vote no rather then have let the lives lost be in vain.

  2. Why are you putting a purely political post that has absolutely nothing to do with Ubuntu on Planet Ubuntu? I don’t get it.

  3. I didn’t think this was an appropriate post to find on Planet Ubuntu. However, I’m grateful for the information and have contacted my rep. to vote yes to end this foolishness.
