>Just want to get this out there….
Summary of how well I will support you when running the following OSes:
- Windows “Vista” Minimal to None (unsupported)
- Windows XP Lots (supported)
- Ubuntu As much as I can give you! (preferred)
About Unsupported Vista
When making Windows “Vista” Microsoft made the decision to treat the big media companies as the customer. Making them always right. That means they put in a bunch of restrictions to keep you from using your computer in the way you want too. Supporting Windows at all is difficult enough without Microsoft putting up massive roadblocks in your computing experience. Since there is an alternative you can use (discussed below), I am not going to be supporting anyone’s computer who runs “Vista”. I will help you install some apps such as Firefox, or help you move to Ubuntu but that is about it. It is so bad I have protested against the dangers of these roadblocks. Also my cousin Brenna says it kills animals and destroys the environment although I can not back up those statements.
About Supported Windows XP
Windows XP is currently the most popular OS on the planet and since most of you already run it… I’m going to be supporting it for the foreseeable future. You can still buy it from many vendors as “Vista” has not been very successful.
About Preferred Ubuntu Linux
Ubuntu Linux is going to be the recommended operating system from me for almost everybody. You should check compatibility with the apps you use though, as some applications are still only written for windows. Ubuntu Linux is immune to spyware and viruses and any other kind of “badware” you can think of. This lets me focus more on an actual technical problem instead of removing viruses, removing spyware, etc.
